AEM Berlin
AEM Berlin is an independent knitwear and fashion brand based in Berlin, Germany.
We design and produce limited-edition garments and knitwear in our own Berlin atelier. Every piece is developed in-house and made in small batches using carefully selected fabrics and Italian yarns.
Our work combines knitwear, jersey, and timeless wardrobe pieces with a mindful approach to design and production.
Our Berlin Atelier
AEM Berlin operates an atelier and store in Berlin Mitte, where design, production and retail come together under one roof.
Our knitwear is developed and produced using our own Shima Seiki knitting machines. We knit, sew, finish and refine our garments in-house rather than outsourcing production.
Visitors can experience part of the process at our Torstraße atelier, where our studio remains connected to everyday life and retail.
Our Approach
We produce small runs of thoughtful pieces, allowing us to maintain quality while reducing unnecessary waste.
Rather than following traditional fashion seasons, we continuously introduce new designs throughout the year.
Many styles are produced only once, depending on the fabrics and yarns available to us.
Materials & Limited Editions
We work primarily with Italian yarns and carefully selected fabrics, including limited deadstock materials and stock yarns.
Because many of these materials are available only in small quantities, most AEM pieces are produced in very limited editions.

Black and white yarns can often be reordered, while most colours remain available only for a single production run.
Knitwear Made in Berlin
Knitwear is at the heart of AEM Berlin.
Our knitwear is developed and produced in our Berlin studio using our own knitting machines and carefully sourced Italian yarns.
We work primarily with merino, alpaca, mohair and natural fibre blends chosen for comfort, longevity and everyday wear.
Most knitwear styles are produced in very small quantities, making each edition unique.
Care & Repairs
We believe garments should be worn and kept for years.
To extend the life of your piece, we recommend airing between wears and hand-washing knitwear in cool water with a gentle detergent.
